brit, (volley)ball, and bike rides

This past weekend, our dear friend Brittney trekked down from Poitiers (where she's playing this season) to visit for a few days. Though the weather was less than desirable, we powered through and made the most of our time together.

We lunched avec David "The Mayor" Gerard at Victor Hugo and enjoyed the architecture in the centre. Too many glasses of lunch wine led to a serious afternoon nap sesh. I'm sure Andy was thankful for a giggle and girl talk reprieve as he prepped for the match that evening.

We watched the Spacer's win another 3-1 match. In lieu of the traditional volleyball pics of my husband, I paparazzi'd and caught some good (slash hilarious) shots of the other guys.

In a surprise turn of events, Sunday afforded us a few hours of sunshine. We rented bikes from Velo Toulouse (a steal at 1,20 euro for a full 24 hours) and hit up Capitole. En route, I jay-biked across an intersection and nearly had us killed by oncoming traffic. I'm still sorry for that one, Brit!

Thanks for coming to hang out with us, Brit. Your love and passion for God, life, and adventure is inspiring! We love you to the moon.

For Andy and me, it's off to Paris this weekend - yahoooo! Toulouse plays Paris (currently ranked number 1 in the league) on Friday and with the following two days off, we decided to take advantage. We'll be celebrating a much overdue, deserved, and belated first anniversary weekend in one of the most romantic cities in the world. Le sigh.

on to the next one...
